I love his books, especially the Stoney character. He will be sadly missed as he was a great author. I've had a bad year 2009, as my Mom passed away in May 09 and then my Father in Oct 09 and as they are gone they will always be in my heart. Please accept my condolances on the passing of a great author, William G. Tapply.

I was saddened to learn of Bill's passing. Please accept my sincere condolences. My daughter introduced me to Bill's books when she was a student of his at Clark University. I looked forward to reading each new book as it came out. I will miss Brady Coyne and Stoney Calhoun.

I just now found out Mr. Tapply died. I am so sorry for your loss, I have been checking to see if any new Brady Coyne books had come out, but had no idea. I look forward to the last few books, I still have some I am trying to find (not many), with the passing of Phillip Craig & now William Tapply, people will have 2 great charators that will leave us all a little empty. I will miss both JW Jackson & Brady Coyne. But most of all the talented men who wrote about them.

I was just catching up on my reading when I came across his article "Coming Unstuck", (American Angler Mar/Apr 2002) and realizes that since 9/11 I've been kind of stuck myself. Since then I've done 5 rotations in Iraq ande last year I turned 60 so the military forced me to retire. I did a short tour with the Dept. of Home Land Security but that wasn't quite what I expected. So for several months I've been job hunting and trying to catch up on all the things I've been neglecting. Reading his story struck home with me and I wanted to let him know how much I appreciated that story. It was only after going to the website that I found out of is passing. Please accept my sincerest condolences. Bill's writing over the years has given me great pleasure. He will be greatly missed.
