I was introduced to Mr. Tapply's books by reading the Philip Craig books set in Martha's Vineyard. Brady Coine appeared, and I began following the Coine series. I don't know how I missed Bill's death, but I just read about it today, over a year later, and I am saddened deeply. The Flyfishing books will be a gift to my husband this year, and now I need the last books Bill wrote to finish my collection. I am sure Bill and Philip are somewhere resting on the shore eating blue fish with their fishing poles stuck in the sand. I will miss them both.

omg! I had no idea maybe my favorite author of all time had passed on. Brady Coyne was one of the characters who got me through my own cancer. Every new book validates my existence.
To those of you who survive this man please know that a stranger grieves as you do because of his loss. He did good with his life. You can't ask for more than that.

I was so sad to hear of Bill's passing. He was a fantastic writer and I was introduced to his works through Phil Craig. Due to my father passing last July as well in Keene I hadn't been on this site for a very long time so just heard the news. My thoughts are with your family and I'm glad I had the opportunity to have a little correspondence with Bill and read his mystery novels. I just returned from a weekend trip to Boston and was in the Back Bay where he mentioned a lot in his books. I will certainly get to the bookstore and read his final novels.
