05 May 2010: On behalf of my family, I'd like to express our gratitude to all of you who have reached out to say how Bill touched your lives, whether it was through his writing or teaching or friendship. It's nice to receive your notes in the Guestbook.

While the cancer (and its treatments) took a toll on his body, his strong spirit and sharp wit remained intact throughout it all. So he kept writing. He wouldn't have it any other way. As a result of this work, three new books will be published later this year: Outwitting Trolls (the final Brady Coyne mystery), The Nomination (an action/suspense thriller), and Every Day Was Special: A Fly Fisher's Lifelong Passion (a collection of musings on fly fishing). Stay tuned for reviews and excerpts.

14 Sept 2009: William G. Tapply died July 28, 2009 at his home in Hancock, NH, after a tough battle with leukemia. Obituaries have been published in The Boston Globe and Boston Herald.

Thanks to all of you who attended the memorial event in September--it was your attendance that made it a truly special event. And thanks to you who have passed along your condolences through the Guestbook, through emails, and through donations to The Nature Conservancy, The Harris Center, and Hooked On A Cure. Your kind thoughts and generosity have meant more to my family than can be expressed here. Clearly, he will be missed by many.

I will continue to pass along news, reviews, and any other relevant tidbits on this website (two books have just been published, and three more are to come).

While Dad may have left us for his own "home water," I am grateful that we can still open a book and remember him through his stories.

-Mike Tapply
